“All Public Telecommunications Entities and Internet Service Providers”

Telecommunication and its supporting infostructure continues to play a critical role in government’s effort in managing the COVID-19 situation.

Presidential Proclamation No. 922, s. 2020, was issued declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the Code Alert System for COVID-19 was raised to Code Red Sublevel Two(2) in accrodance with the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

On March 16 2020, President Rodrigo R. Duterte under Proclamation No.929, Declaring a State of Calamity throughout the Philippines due to Corona Virus Disease 2019, imposed an Enhanced Community Quarantine throughout Luzon until April 12 202, unless earlier lifted or extended as circimstances may warrant.

On March 24, 2020, Republic Act No. 11469, known as the “Bayanihan to Heal As One Act” was signed into law.

In this regard, the Commission hereby directs all public telecommunication entities (PTEs) to submit their Business Continuity Plans and other measures undertaken to ensure uninterrupted service and to address the increased demand for ICT services.
